CAPTAIN
Chris Howlin is a native of Virginia Beach and has fished his local waters since he was a kid. Captain Howlin holds a 50 ton USCG Masters captains license USCG OUPV (operator of uninspected passenger vessels) ( six pack) captains license, and is trained and certifed in both CPR and First Aid. Aside from safety, catching fish is the only thing on his mind. He has been blessed with the opportunity to fish from Maryland to Cape Hatteras, Florida, Bahamas, Virgin Islands, Aruba, Puerto Vallarta, and Cabo San Lucas.
So he has a little bit of seasoning from all over.

FIRST MATE
Just like his captain, Kevin (Puddin) Perry is also a native of Virginia Beach and has fished the surrounding waters his whole life. Kevin has been with Howlin Sportfishing for about five years and has a great deal of time on the offshore grounds. If needing to gaff a 200 pound tuna to releasing a 600 pound marlin, Kevin is your mate.

BOAT
The "Good Grief" is a 36' custom Bruiel Sportfisherman powered by new twin 2002 8.1 liter fuel injected Sea-Max marine engines. She cruises at a safe and comfortable 28mph. On the bridge you will find Furuno 16 mile radar. Si-Tech colored fish finder, Garmin chart plotter, 2 marine band radios, and an additional GPS.
Howlin Sportfishing has equipped the vessel above the Coast Guard regulations with 2 six person inflatable life rafts, and a EPIRB (Emergency Position Indicating Radio Beacon) in addition to your normal safety precautions. For the people who would like to get out of the blazing sun or pelting rain we offer an enclosed cabin with ac, TV, VCR, CD player, and even a Playstation for the kids.

TACKLE
"Good Grief" is tournament rigged with all top of the line tackle and gear from its Lee outriggers to its Release fighting chair with rocket launcher. We are set up to catch fish from 1 to 1000+ pounds. Our arsenal consist of:

(2) 80 STW 2 speed Penn Internationals Reels on 7' custom rods
(2) 70 VS 2 speed Penn International Reels on 6 1/2' custom rods
(5) 50 TW Penn International Reels on 6' custom rods
(3) 30 TW Penn International Reels on 6 1/2' custom rods
(6) Shimano TLD 20's
and an assortment of other rods and reels and way to much tackle to list.
RATES

Full Day Offshore - $1050 (4:30am to 5:00pm) Your target species for this trip will consist of: Tuna, Marlin, dolphin, and Wahoo with a Mako or other shark species thrown in.

Full Day Inshore - $700 ( 6:00am-4:00pm) Inshore we will be fishing for Cobia, Kings, Amberjack, Striper, Flounder, Spadefish and various other bottom fish.

Half Day Inshore - $450 ( 6:00am-11:00am 12:00pm-5;00pm) In these trips we will be going for the same species as listed as above.

Fishing trip consists of a maximum of 6 people, per coast guard regulations. We will provide everything that you will need for fishing trip, including all bait, tackle, rods, reels, and licensing. Your party will need to bring their own food, and drinks. Any kind of beverage is allowed, however we ask that you do not bring glass!! Please wear proper gear for the weather, and also please be prepared for any weather changes that may occur. Sunscreen is also very important since you will be on the water. There is an enclosed cabin that is both air- conditioned and heated, depending on the weather.

Each trip requires a $300.00 deposit taken by cash, check, or credit card (Visa and MC), nothing is charged to it at this immediate time. We will hold the card until the date of the trip, where you may then pay the captain by cash, traveler�s check, or credit card. If you wish to pay by check we request that you send/bring the check two weeks prior to the trip that way the check has ample time to clear. You have until two weeks prior to the trip to cancel with no repercussions. After you are within that two-week time period your trip is considered confirmed, and if you cancel or do not show up on the date of the trip, $300.00 will be charged to your credit card.
