This river has tremendous numbers of Brown Trout from 11 to 16 inches, and offers terrific stonefly, caddis and attractor fly fishing through late Fall. Walk/wade fishing has a distinct advantage in very low water.

SOUTH PLATTE RIVER TRIPS

The South Platte in Park County provides classic stream fishing on two tailwater stretches. Badger Basin can produce great days on dry flies, with large spawning browns inhabiting the Middle Fork in the Fall.

Spring brings rainbows up to ten pounds out of Elevenmile to spawn in the beds below Spinney Resevoir.
